Rain on Holy Grounds

“Drip down, O heavens, from above, And let the clouds pour down righteousness; Let the earth open up and salvation bear fruit, And righteousness spring up with it. I, the LORD, have created it.”

Isaiah 45:8

Today I received extra credit for walking in the rain to class

But along the way, I got to gaze upon the glory of God through every step of the way

God’s love is not defined by the amount of performance we obtain by seeking out flesh

But it’s the experience of one of the sweetest of joys to one day dwell in his eternal life

His abilities exceed any limits fathomed

Because he is the standard we desire and long for

We dream of giants

One day in hopes of becoming Davids

We travel across oceans to obtain victory

That pharaohs may be parted before the partition of seas

We walk through rain and jump over puddles

We dance and breathe uncontrollable air

Only to be refreshed from the outside in

You ever wondered why sometimes at your lowest points you feel the wind blowing

But this time it hits your soul

That’s the beauty of love that comforts us, so that we may capture light in darkness

No matter how much we fall

He waits patiently

Yearning, for his people to experience his mighty love

He takes us in without taking us, and as we remain, he reminds us that there’s no chain that his love cannot break

Through pain, his love weighed our hearts down, so that we can soak in his presence

Oh, taste and see that the Lord is good!

So, why do I receive extra credit for a class that I’m “required” to attend?

I guess that’s how God’s love is to us, undeserving, yet he wants to give us more
