God is Good

The word for today comes from Genesis 1:1-31 and Romans 10:4. There in Genesis 1:1-31, God repeatedly brings forth good, and this is often mentioned throughout the scriptures, stating "it was good" 6 times and on the 7th mention stating, "it was very good." In the opening of the scriptures, God reveals His character: that He is "Good," but also His ability to create and bring forth goodness.

This is important because, as we go through life desiring things that resemble God's goodness, we can get caught up in thinking that we have experienced God in His fullness. Yes, the new car, a bigger house, more finances, or even a quiet day in the morning with a cup of tea or coffee (if you like) can bring forth a sense of life as good, and there's nothing wrong with experiencing God and His creation in this way. I am drinking a cup of tea now as I write.

As we look at Romans 10:4, Paul writes about one of the greatest experiences of receiving the fullness of God's goodness. He writes it this way: "For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to everyone who believes."

The beginning of experiencing the oneness and goodness of God starts when we submit to His righteousness. We are no longer bound by the law, but through faith, we believe that all things good are restored and enjoyed through God. We have been set free to experience "Good."

God has established His goodness in the earth so that we may know who He is and all that He has offered us. And as we accept His goodness into our lives, we can reach a place where we are fully satisfied, exposed to the immeasurable peace, joy, love, kindness, and all that is under the law of Christ.

God wants to restore us to His goodness. My prayer is that today you experience God's goodness in full, allowing Him to bring forth life, abundance, peace, and joy in a new way. I pray that as you walk through life on days that may not feel or look good, you would know that God is "Good". 1. Because He has declared it throughout His word, but even before the earth was formed, He wanted you to know what good means.
