Be Honest!!!
I believe the greatest gift of being a believer is that we get to be honest with God. We can be honest with God because truth is He already knows the answers, sees our situations, has projected the outcomes, and ordered our steps. There’s no need to pretend, hide our true feelings, let moments define us, or give up. We can come to God openly because He is already with us in every moment.
Being honest with God draws us closer to Him:
- It uncovers our doubts and reveals our fears.
- It loosens worry, shame, and guilt.
- It brings to light the hurts and pains we’re facing.
- It confronts our shortcomings and admits our desires
- It humbly places us at the feet of our Father, trusting in His fullness, truth, and love — even when honesty feels hard.
Sometimes, honesty makes us feel alone, vulnerable, anxious, or tempted to run away. But today, I encourage you not to hold back from God in this area of your life. His Word says in Romans 10:11, “Whoever believes on Him will not be put to shame.” There is no shame in honestly seeking God and admitting you need His guidance, provision, and promises — for today, tomorrow, and forever. Being truly honest with God is the bedrock of our pursuit of Christ. He wants us to grow in our trust of him each day.
Reflect:
1. Are there any areas in your life where you have held back from being honest with God?
2. What part of your life do you need to truly uncover before Him?
3. Do you believe that being honest with God is easy or hard? Why ?
4. What changes do you need to make on your path of honesty ?
Prayer:
God, thank you that today, as always, you understand me completely. You help me gain clarity about what truly matters. Today, I want to be honest with you about myself and my life. As I turn toward you, would you help me to be truly honest and vulnerable before you? May you set me free each day from shame, doubt, and the fear of being judged. I trust that the more I am honest with you, the more our relationship will grow closer and my trust in you will strengthen. Thank you, for you are the essence of full truth and total honesty. Therefore, I will reflect your character today and always. In Jesus' name, Amen.
