I am sitting here today in awe of God. Through every test and trial, every heartbreak and disappointment, every sunny day and rainy sky, God has been with me through it all. I am reminded of the prophet Isaiah, who had a vision of heaven as God entered to be seated on His throne. Isaiah cried, “Woe is me, for I am ruined! For I am a man of unclean lips” (Isaiah 6:5).
The closer we get to God, the more aware we become of who we truly are: image-bearers who need saving. There is a point in everyone’s life when we must become so in awe of God that life itself ceases to exist.
I am all the more grateful for the new life God has given His children and for the opportunity to learn what it means to be offered salvation in place of wrath. The more life we experience, the more clearly, we see that our ruined flesh cannot stand before a holy God. It is in this place of alignment that we shift toward truly knowing who God is, what Jesus’ sacrifice did, and how Holy Spirit is transforming us each day.
This is why Moses writes, “In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth” (Genesis 1:1).
We were created for a purpose. God is that purpose. To be with Him, to stand in awe of Him, and to experience His love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. It’s funny how the joys of life can only truly be experienced in the goodness of God—the One who gives life.
Today, I challenge you to sit and behold who God is to you. Think about the things He has done and how He has saved you. If you aren’t a believer, I challenge you to make a choice. The Word says, “If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved” (Romans 10:9). There is no better time to choose to follow God than today.
Prayer
Lord, thank You for this year. As we approach the last two months of 2026, I want to personally say thank You. Thank You for offering salvation to everyone. Thank You for Jesus’ sacrifice and for making atonement for our sins. Thank You for everyone who has participated in the devotionals, prayer calls, ministry meetings, and intercession on behalf of Bold Freedom Ministries. Thank You that Jesus chose to drink from the cup of our iniquities. For the person who reads this today and feels alone or confused, please comfort them and show them Your truth. May their prayer for forgiveness be offered to You. Help them today to walk with You in goodness and experience all that You are. I am in awe of Your presence. I pray You would never take it away. Keep us near the cross and shower us all with Your love, until the day of Jesus’ return. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
